Special 3-Hour Self Defense / Grappling Workshop
(Including Knife defense)
Saturday, March 13, 2010
12:30pm - 3:30pm
Chin Na Seminar - "Seize and Control"
Grappling in Chinese Martial Arts is also known as Chin Na "Seize and Control". Chin Na is known for its effectiveness in controlling opponents or attackers through the use of locking joints or muscles and tendons. By capturing and seizing the opponent's limbs, it gives the practitioner total control over of the opponent's body.
Chin Na uses the principles of leverage and body alignment to overcome a physically stronger opponent. Chin Na techniques also involve the study and use of pressure points to enhance the efficiency of the leverage techniques applied by the practitioner.
Why Learn Chin Na?
Ideal Self Defense for Both Men & Women
The key is to learn the proper angles and where to apply the pressure or strength. When it is properly applied, very little strength is actually needed to make it work.
Control the Situation without Causing Serious Harm
Maybe your friend had just a little too much to drink yet insists on trying to drive home. Your goal is simple - get the keys so no one gets hurt. Law enforcement agents have effectively utilized these methods for years to control a situation without causing serious injury.
Real Life, Practical Self-Defense that can be Learned Quickly
Because Chin Na relies on principles of leverage, the techniques can be learned quickly and, once the concept of joint locking is understood, the practitioner can develop their own techniques based on their own way of applying it.
